About πŸ”

USB Type-C is really great, letting you (sometimes) charge (almost) every device you have with (nearly) every charger you have. Unfortunately, not all devices play nicely with all other devices. I'm putting together a table to hopefully document some of those cases, and maybe help you pick out what charger you need.

While this site does provide information on chargers, batteries, laptops, phones, and the like, it's not a review site. I'll link to in-depth reviews when applicable, but this is just compatibility information for USB-C chargers. This is also only my best effort at getting this information, so if any of it is wrong or you would like to add your own findings, let me know on Twitter @usbctable.

Tips on using the table

You can click on a device name to view details about that device, or click on a charging result to view more about that particular pairing. The message inside the cell about the pairing is generally either my assessment of how well it charges, in which case it's in parentheses, or the message that the device itself gives about the charger.

Examples of charging qualities:

Quality Description
(Excellent) The device will be charged just about as quickly as it can be
(Great) The device will be charged, and will be charged while the device is in use. It may not charge as fast as the maximum charge speed a device can support
(Acceptable) The device will be charged, but it may charge very slowly, or only charge while the device is turned off or in sleep mode. This is also the quality I assign when I don't have enough data to judge how well something's being charged
(Questionable) The device may only be charged while certain conditions are met. For example, the device providing power may need to have its screen turned on the entire time, or it may only charge after unplugging it and plugging it back in a few times
(No support) The device can't be charged
(Fails to charge) The device can't be charged, with some notable behavior preventing it
(Really fails to charge) The device not only can't be charged, but there is also some potentially dangerous behavior

All names and brands are property of their respective owners and are provided here for informational purposes only. Use of these names or brands doesn't imply endorsement or any other relationship. This site has no connection to the USB Implementers Forum. I'm only some person who wants it to be a little easier for people to tell whether something will charge.
